Romanian Jewelry Week - Special Edition Chișinău 2023
From August 18th to August 31st, 2023, Romanian Jewelry Week continues its international marathon of contemporary jewelry with a special edition held in Chișinău, at the National Museum of History of Moldova, one of the most important cultural institutions in the country. This project marks the first collaboration in the field of contemporary jewelry between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The project is co-financed by the Romanian Cultural Institute through the Cantemir Program, a funding program for cultural projects.
The museum will host a two-week exhibition dedicated to Romanian Jewelry Week, featuring over 50 Romanian and International artists and designers. The event will include 5 special activities such as openings, guided tours, conferences, and workshops open to the public. Among the exhibitors, there will be well known designers from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Italy, the USA, France, Portugal, Germany, Ukraine, South Korea, and more, as well as two capsule exhibitions organized by the Slovenian Jewelry Week and the Legnica Silver Festival from Poland. Additionally, a special moment will be marked by a projection of the first international video festival inspired by jewelry - SMCK on Reel, which focuses on current social themes explored through the lens of contemporary jewelry.

Romanian Jewelry Week is an annual international project organized by Assamblage - the National Association of Authors and Designers of Contemporary Jewelry, bringing together over 190 designers and collectives from around the world in each edition. It is currently the most comprehensive and important event dedicated to contemporary jewelry in Romania. After three successful editions held in Bucharest at cultural venues such as the National Library of Romania, Arcub, the National Museum of Romanian History, the Cotroceni National Museum, and many others, Romanian Jewelry Week will organize a first special edition in Timișoara and Chișinău in 2023, alongside the main edition in Bucharest, scheduled for October 4th to 8th, 2023.
