FLAVIA GHEORGHIAN
Biography:
I am a multidisciplinary artist working with: metal and gemstones, ink, watercolor, oil paints, ceramics, paper and any other material I find inspiring, that falls into my hands. I like to create meaningful pieces that one would treasure forever.
I find my inspiration in nature, history and architecture, trying to take in everything that is given to me and manifest it in my art.
Collection Concept: PRIVATE HEAVEN
My collection entitled "Private heaven" is a reflection on the closeness and intimacy that jewelry represents for the wearer, as well as for the maker. I got inspired by the Romanian saying "Fa rai din ce ai" which means to make the most of what you`ve got. In this way, I created most parts of the jewels from silver scraps that I had left from other pieces. The colorful cotton threads are a reminder of childhood. As a child I used to make bracelets using threads I found in grandma`s sewing box and I was always wearing a few such braided bracelets.
