Achinoam Cina (Israel)

Designer biography:

Achinoam Cina is a jewelry designer, metalsmith, metalsmith teacher, and makeup artist based in Ramat Gan, Israel. She specializes in unique fine jewelry with diamonds and gemstones, art jewelry, and stage jewelry for dance performances. Achinoam graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.Des degree from Shenkar College's Jewelry Design Department. Her final project was showcased at Marzee Gallery's international graduate exhibition. She was a shortlisted candidate in the Arts Thread Global Graduate Show competition. Achinoam also participated in the SMCK On Reel festival of 2022, prese nting her video. Additionally, she teaches silversmithing at Shenkar College and owns a makeup and hairstyles business, specializing in bridal and event services. By combining her passion for jewelry design, teaching, and beauty artistry, Achinoam creates memorable experiences for her clients, showcasing her versatility and commitment to growth and learning.

Collection concept:

My project 'Seeds', explores interconnected themes: life and death, growth and withering, joy and sorrow, control and chaos. Drawing from personal experiences, I perceive a circular world where elements coexist and create each other. Contrasting materials, timeless and temporary, hard and soft, express these themes in harmony. The project unifies a single shape hidden between two circles: leaf and seed, eye and wound, birthplace. This shape is found in nature and our bodies, representing function and utility, as it con tains, extrudes, protects, and allows continuity. This form reappears, a unifying thread throughout the project.

In 'Creation Of Life,' a long chain pendant delicately rests in the lower abdomen area and captures a captivating interplay between fabric tension and the body's contours. Symbolizing the power of life's creation, it embodies the balance of strength and fragility in creating new life.

“As You Sow, So Will You Reap' presents a tear-collecting jewel, a testament to the profound connection between the eyes and the soul. Shed in sorrow or happiness, tears hold meaning, playing a crucial role in grieving and healing. Collecting tears facilitates growth and emotional renewal, offering solace and personal growth.

'One Is All' showcases the interplay of the eternal and temporal. A single sprout piercing metal represents strength, while the collective power of sprouts conveys uniqueness within similarity. Through these themes, I invite viewers to reflect on life's beauty, complexity, and the importance of embracing all its facets.
