Designer biography:
My name is Diana Monica Schuhmacher, I’m 45 years old, and I was born in Bucharest, Romania. I was working many years in projects related to the architecture world, but all my life I was bewitched by the jewelry, especially the silver ones. Three years ago I decided that it’s never too late to follow your dreams, so step by step, month after month, year after year, I turned my hobby into a new daily activity. I had excellent mentors, from whom I learned with great pleasure, but also with direct proportionally effort, the secrets of turning silver into jewelry, going through a multitude of techniques.
Collection concept:
Lately I’m attracted by miniature enamel paintings, framed in silver and worked in different techniques or just a simple enamel piece; I am presenting at Romanian Jewelry Week 2023 4 pieces in this style, representing “Feelings suspended in time”. I named my collection like this, because everything that is around us, with everything that we interact with, throughout our existence, from nature in all its forms, the people who pass through our lives, to the objects in the immediate vicinity, everything it marks irreversibly our lives, leaving an imprint in our soul: a feeling suspended in time!
“The Heron" - Nature shows us that even under the image of cuteness and beauty, there is determination and endurance; The heron, in addition to the elegance of it’s flight, is the symbol of attention, patience, and the power of concentration.
“The reflexion in the mirror” - Not just admiration, but also introspection; not only the search for feelings in the depths of our soul, but also the search for moments from our own past. We look at ourselves in the mirror every day, throughout our lives. And more than once, we are trying to find in the reflection of the mirror, glimpses of us from past times; moments suspended in time!
“the fish of the depths" (will follow) - the symbol of the underground and the unfriendly world of the depths. Although this world is sometimes turbid, confused and devoid of light, it gives a feeling which is not devoid of tenderness, refinement, and shows the tranquility of the infinite.
“Bird of Paradise” (will follow) - the joy of color, light and love; it is the lust for life, the love of beauty, the joy and the celebration of the heart.
