Junru Xie, with the interest of stories telling through object, Junru works from personal experience. In her creative thinking, jewellery can be a form of therapy. With a humorous engaging and emotional approach, sighting in jewellery design to empathize with the wearer. As a designer, she thinks Jewellery can be your companion who empathises with you and stimulate you to open up your real emotions.
Immersed in Junru’s jewellery world. Her jewellery collections often explore the connection between human and objects, also discover value from the other side of the objects. Junru creates her jewellery to empathize with the wearer in humorous, engaging and emotional way. She committed to make realistic objects using metal, applying new lives to the objects in metal work. She also interested in multi-material approach to jewellery using silicone, acrylic, fabric and so on. Her goal to achieve is with the unique identity of the design, making a positive social impact for the new generation.
Collection concept:
Pop! out of safety zone is a collection about embracing and recovering from the fear with balloons. With the humorous and surreal narrative, each piece of the designs presents the imaginative and interactive ideas between the wearer and the balloon.
Inspired by her childhood balloon phobia. Pop! Out of safety zone is a collection for encouraging people to embrace with their fear. With the humorous and surreal narrative, each piece of the design presents the imaginative and interactive ideas between the wearer and the balloon. Enabling to embrace the balloon that make the balloon as a recovering feature in the collection. She applies a lively comedy ‘scene’ for each design and also empathy the audiences as well as the wearers, how your fear can be your friend if you play with your fear?
