Kimia Parang (Iran)
KIMIA PARANG
Designer biography:
As a teenager, I spent countless hours drawing and experimenting with traditional pottery methods in Iran. I often accompanied my grandmother to Vakil Bazar, where she would order her jewelry from goldsmiths. It was during these visits that I discovered my passion for creating wearable objects that tell a story. As I honed my craft, I began to realize that the process of conceiving forms and imbuing them with emotion and meaning was something I could pursue for the rest of my life. My academic background in industrial engineering has provided me with a unique set of skills that allows me to design and create objects with ease and express myself creatively in ways that I never thought possible.
For me, each piece of jewelry that I create is a story waiting to be told. I draw inspiration from the world around me, from the people I meet, and from the experiences that shape my life. Through my work, I strive to capture the essence of these moments and translate them into wearable art that speaks to the heart and soul of those who wear them.
As an artist, I am committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with jewelry design. I am constantly exploring new materials, techniques, and styles, and am always seeking new ways to express myself creatively. Whether I am creating a delicate, intricate piece or a bold, statement-making design, I am always focused on telling a story that resonates with my audience. For me, jewelry is more than just an accessory. It reflects who we are and what we value, and it has the power to connect us to the world around us in profound and meaningful ways.
Collection concept:
While walking through a garden, I found some tree branches that were not matched to any tree. This distinct branch stood out from the others and held a unique character that drew my attention. The garden was destroyed after a while that tree branch is the only thing left of it. Using molds made from this single, unattached tree branch, I have created a series of jewelry pieces that capture the essence of the lost garden. Each piece tells a story of memory and attachment, and each one is shaped to represent the attaching character of memory. The use of emerald and ruby gemstones adds a touch of life and vibrancy to the jewelry, with green gems representing the leaves and red gems representing the flowers.
My lost garden jewelry series serves as a reminder of the importance of noticing the beauty in everyday things and appreciating the power of memory and attachment. By wearing my jewelry, individuals can carry a piece of this lost garden with them and remember the beauty that once was. As a jewelry designer, I am passionate about creating art that tells a story and evokes emotion. My lost garden jewelry series is a reflection of this passion, and I hope that it will inspire others to cherish their own memories and appreciate the unique character of the world around them
