MARGARYTA KVITKOVA
Designer biography:
I’m Margaryta Kvitkova from Ukraine. I started my creative career in 2011. I didn’t have a dream to be a jeweler. Moreover, I have a master degree in economics and I worked at IT companies for ten years. I don’t have art education, only thematic courses and some private lessons. I’m mostly self-taught. But I adore the imagination process. Creativity is a power and a passion that drives me to grow.
It was difficult to find a jewelry I wanted to wear. The first impulse was the idea that it is possible to make a piece of jewelry by myself. And I don’t need to find a jeweler who agrees to make my creative design.
I make my jewelry in sterling silver and I don’t use wax casting. It’s a totally handmade process from the sketch to the finished jewelry and its photos.
I have my own home studio and I make jewelry from my ideas. I like to invent and create new designs. It can take a long time to be sure I find a perfect implementation. The main reference point for me is a form. I adore geometric shapes, angular lines and sharp curves. And I prefer to create volumetric shapes of jewelry. Two things are important to me: the jewelry must be wearable for everyday use and doesn't look like a typical classic jewelry piece.
Collection concept:
Collection Penetration
There is an inherent duality in our reality. In order to stay in equilibrium, we are forced to seek balance. This is my attempt to combine two opposites. The sharp edges penetrate the rounded shapes and create a unique connection.
