Designer biography:
We are Maria Filipescu and Georgiana Deaconu, two sisters with artistic and technical background, uniting their efforts and inspiration into jewelry statement pieces. Maria is an UNARTE graduate specialized in glass and metal working, with more than 15 years experience in designing jewelry, working with various materials such as resin and metal. Over the years she participated in various fairs, both local and abroad. Georgiana is an interior architect, graduate from Ion Mincu Architecture University, specialized in interior and product design, with more than 10 years experience in furniture and product design.
Together we are MicaCera, expressing our creativity in porcelain and other ceramic bodies.
Collection concept:
Life is a series of events, some very beautiful that generate memories we are happy to recall, other events more shocking or sad, that give birth to memories we rather avoid recalling, or easily forget. The most important events, like falling in love or losing someone dear, are the milestones in life, like bone structure in a body, or the outline of a shape. The little things like a great coffee on a sunny morning or a quiet walk on the beach, finish the whole picture of life, like little dots in a detailed hatch. We took the parallel a little further, imagining life's shape defined in strong and fine creases, like folds in a sheet of paper that works-up an origami shape.
CREASES is the name of our new collection, a composition of folds imprinted in porcelain that define volumetric stability put in intriguing shapes. It's about the beauty of a shape's genesis, about taking a close look on how the lines together define a drawing, all in perfect balance.
