Designer biography:

Ginny Oh, a Malaysian-born Chinese based in Singapore, is deeply influenced by her colourful cultural background and social environment. Having grown-up in a society rich in ethnic diversity, this shaped the foundation for Ginny's creative adaptation and interpretation. She finds inspiration from everything and everywhere and being passionate for the art of creation, she interprets what she sees and feels onto her jewellery pieces.

Body Language

The 'Escape' collection is a series that visualises the emotional state of escaping the entrapments and confinements of dark reality. The bubble of social expectations, which we all live in, confines us to a point where we sometimes suffocate and choke. As we try to escape from it, we find ourselves in a tighter grip and suffocate even more. The escape from the dark and ugly reality leaves us blind and breathless. The pieces in the collection experiments on the facial expressions and hand gestures that portrays the anguish, fear, shock, desperation in the need to escape, and in the search for light in the midst of darkness.
