IRINA ELENA NICOLESCU
Designer biography:
Irina, an architect with a strong background in visual arts, embarked on her jewelry journey by creating Atelier Iriri, a place to play, learn, grow, and explore. The transition from architecture to jewelry felt remarkably natural for her. Beyond the differences in scale and some utilitarian aspects, Irina discovered a harmonious overlap in concepts between the two fields. She works with familiar elements such as composition, structure, volume, light, shadows, texture, and colors, seamlessly bridging her architectural expertise with her newfound passion.

MEMO
A small strip of paper torn from a notebook, twisted a few times around a finger, is one of my earliest explorations in the world of jewelry. Paper carries our messages in multiple ways. Besides the written message, I focused my attention on the gestures that remain on paper after we fold it, crumple it, and play with it. The secrets sealed in a note passed from hand to hand. The boredom in an accordion-folded paper on a desk. The impatience crumpled in a tissue left on a table. Yes, time flies by, but even the most fleeting moments leave a mark. MEMO pieces are memories of gestures left on paper and then preserved forever in silver. You can always ask yourself: what story does a fold keep inside?
