Designer biography:

Born in 1984, Tehran. I studied graphic design in one of Tehran conservatories and after high school I enrolled in the sculpture classes. Got my bachelor's degree in graphic design and after working as a graphic designer for 6 years, I went to jewelry design and manufacturing classes. I launched my own brand, Kiana Karimi Tehran in 2017. To make my pieces, I combine my sculpting experience with jewelry making techniques and for that, I consider my creations as wearable sculptures. Each of my collections is inspired by a part of my beautiful country, Iran. Sometimes, nature fascinates me. Sometimes, due to my interest in the Persian literature of the great professors of my country, it makes me think of creating a piece inspired by a verse. To realize this goal, I use the language of jewelry for translating my thoughts to wearable sculptures.

Collection concept:

The Tulip collection is based on the poem called In the barrier of the night,  by Mr. Shafiei Kodkani, one of Iran's prominent contemporary poets and masters of literature. The content of this poem refers to the fact that crises and disturbances that happen to humans are caused by themselves, and the cause must be sought within, and this requires a deep self-knowledge and understanding of oneself. In difficult situations, no one comes from outside to save you, and it is only through knowing your own truth that you can correct the situation. The idea of change should not be sought in the mirror of others but within oneself. In one of the verses of this poem he says:

Blossom like a tulip from the heart of the stone, bring out the flag of blood

Break through the madness of rock solidity
