Designer biography:
Kinga Olah is a London-based contemporary jewellery artist. She holds a BA (Hons) in Jewellery from the School of Creative Arts, UK, and completed a diploma as a Goldsmith in Budapest. Her artistic journey is inspired by a deep and delicate interplay between jewellery and the human body. Her pieces artfully capture and explore the wearer's negative body space, transforming it into wearable or even giftable expressions of art. Her work blends traditional jewellery techniques with innovative processes refined over years of material exploration and experimentation. Her distinctive method involves reconstructing crushed stones into layered compositions, creating an extraordinary surface texture.
Collection concept: Closer Collection - "Dialogue Between Jewellery and Human Body"
The 'Closer' collection explores certain aspects of the intimate and complex relationship between jewellery and the human body. The artist searches for answers on how contemporary jewellery can become even 'closer' to the wearer. Her works artfully capture and explore the wearer’s personal body space, creating opportunities for new perspectives and experiences, transforming it into exciting, sculptural yet delicate forms of jewellery. By designing pieces that interact closely with the wearer, she creates a sense of intimacy and personal connection. This close, intimate context allows the jewellery to act as a symbol of the self, serving as both physical and mental representations.
