Designer biography:

Marie Jianu is a Romanian contemporary jewelry artist. She graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations in 2004. Since 2012 she has participated in contemporary jewelry courses at Assamblage – Institute of Arts and Design alongside her mentors, David Sandu and Andreia Gabriela Popescu. This experience allowed her to experiment with various approaches to jewelry making. In 2020 she started learning the Chasing and Repousse with Maestro Fabrizio Acquafresca, a technique she adores and incorporates into her collections.  This ancient technique allows her to explore the plasticity of metals, playing with forms, textures and volumes creating intricate jewelry design. Her pieces are crafted entirely by hand. She loves to work with pure silver, sterling silver and gold.  She has been attending Romanian Jewellery Week since 2020.

Collection concept:

This collection draws inspiration from the delicate elegance of the white silky petals, embodying a language of love, peace and hope. Each piece is crafted to reflect the gentle curves and subtle textures found in nature capturing the timeless beauty of white light.  The colour white symbolises purity, clarity and serenity while also representing a veil for new beginnings.  Its transcendent nature makes it a universal symbol, connecting different cultures and traditions through its simplicity and sophistication.
