Designer biography:

Smaranda Isar, born in Bucharest in 1994, is a multifaceted artist currently active in Bucharest. She graduated from UNA in 2017 with a specialization in Textile Design. Since 2015, she has co-founded Design Neaoș, a ceramic brand dedicated to interior decor. Since 2017, she has been involved in social events, curating art workshops for children and adults. She has initiated projects focusing on exploring human connections and relationships, with special attention given to psychology, creating signs and symbols in various methods of expression spanning graphics, ceramics, metal, textiles, and installations. Smaranda showcased her works in national and international exhibitions across Romania, France, Switzerland, and Portugal.

Collection concept:

My jewelry collection highlights each individual's uniqueness within the complex system we compose, aiming to deepen our understanding of ourselves in relation with the cosmic tapestry. We function like any other system, connected to a larger cosmic framework. Every action is a response to a previous one, which will, in turn, lead to another. We can act blindly, driven by instinct and ego, or we can thoughtfully understand the impact of our actions. The objects I create remind us of individual uniqueness. When part of an installation, they represent the system and its interdependence. Each piece of jewelry is designed to remind the wearer to turn inward and contemplate the inner self, recognizing that our internal mechanisms mirror those governing the vast universe.
