Biography:

The brand Bego Fuente Joyas cannot be fully understood without getting to know my background a little bit. For some time I worked as an English teacher and a graphic designer but felt the need to reconnect with my creative side escaping from the digital world and getting back to the real, manual work. That’s how I got involved in artistic contemporary jewellery making.

Now I can say I found my vocation and I am happy in my little workshop located in San Sebastián - Donostia where I design and handcraft all my pieces.

Collection Concept: WORD VESSELS

“These are the vessels where you can keep all those words you never said...”

A little while ago I suddenly felt the urge to release some of those unsaid words I had kept to myself...words someone may had been waiting extraordinarily long to hear..or not...Do we want to listen to what someone had to tell us and never had the courage?...would we be ready to hear, or to let go those things unsaid? is it right to stir things up or is it better to keep things the way they are?..do we feel released when speaking out our emotions , feelings or thoughts? or do we feel like we have caused unnecessary drama? You certainly never know if you are opening old wounds, causing unpleasantness, or if you are on the contrary giving someone peace of mind, or even joy.

The things we never said, we keep them hidden but not forgotten, so that one day we can hopefully set them free. The things we never said stay trapped, compressed, silenced inside our guts, building up emotional pressure, preventing closure. They can create blockages and rot in our hearts.

We all hide words, those that sprung from doubts or indecision maybe, words that blocked their way out in our throats, words that harm, words that heal...but either way I don’t think we should cope with the burden of the unspoken when it comes to feelings or emotions.

Since words cannot stay inside forever without hurting us, and they will not have a place to be outside because they can only fly so long..I have created these vessels to hold them, so they can remain there until they are set free or they fade away with time.. that way it will be the vessels that get rusty over time, but not our hearts.
