Biography:

Metal x Syrup is a collaborative series between Berlin based artists Avantika Khanna of Sun’s Syrup and Anna Butwell of Metal Atelier. Avantika, working in mixed materials including silver, bronze, and glass, has long played with the technical limitations of each, dripping the materials into playful compositions. Anna works nearly exclusively in metal, most often casting stones, chain, and other objects in place, creating rough and tumble rock and roll adornments. Together, the two artists have combined their methods and achieved the new collection, Metal x Syrup.

Collection Concept:

Metal x Syrup is a study of contrast. Seeking to push the possibilities between glass and silver, two contemporary jewelry artists combine their disparate aesthetics to create pieces with unexpected strength. By bringing together seemingly fragile glass with heavy chain, these artists have produced innovative adornments.
