Biography:

Born in Piatra - Neamt in the same year when Led Zeppelin launches Led Zeppelin IV, graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest but also a graduate in Alternative Pedagogy, specialization in Fine Arts, (Waldorf College) I always oscillated between the exact sciences and art, having a winding path that eventually led me to make ceramics.

From the beginning I loved to work with porcelain, this pretentious material and not very easy to tame, but which also offers me great satisfaction. This universe of ceramics is so vast and my feeling is that I would need all 7 hearts of the enchanted horse from childhood stories, to be able to comprehend, over more than a lifetime, the secrets of this world.

I always wanted to make jewelry that would adorn and convey a message at the same time, jewelry that would tell its stories in shape, texture and color.

Collection Concept: MARBLE’S DREAMS

I started from the desire to create jewelry with texture and colors found in different variations of marble but which are as light as porcelain having at the same time a homogeneity and quite high resistance to cracking and breaking, characteristics common to both materials.

If the various colors of marble are due to the impurities contained: red from iron salts, brown from manganese, gray from graphite, etc., in the case of porcelain, the marbled appearance is obtained by coloring the porcelain with pigments and using the Japanese NERIKOMY technique.

Each piece is then modeled and carved to obtain the desired shape and appearance. Here comes the chance, as in nature, in the case of marble: you can’t fully control the final result, the color mixtures are always different, always new and surprising, offering uniqueness of each object.
