The minimalism of the Japanese culture inspired me to make these rings.
I believe that clothing and jewels are the extensions of ourselves into the world.
It’s a rebellion against comfort and ordinariness however my aim isn’t to be ostentatious.
I wanted to make characteristically strong jewels with robustious style, that can emphasize the uniqueness of their holders.
The paper – that my products are made of – is the symbol of calmness and also the confidence of knowledge. Sturdiness, consciousness and sustainability is important to me.
Collection Concept:
I don't have a definite concept. The basis is the geometric harmony of paper and color. I only sit on the desk and choose the right color for the right shape. My concept is simply intuition.
I decided to make a ring that has no dominant parts so it can be as pure and free as it is in its place, the shape tops the material. The jewel shows itself as an object in space, like a statue, a piece of furniture or a building. This laminated paper is strong and hard so it has to be carved just as making a sculpture.
