ALEKSANDR TIMOSHCHUK
Designer biography:
I'm an independent 3D Artist and 3D jewelry sculptor, working with stones, metals like titanium, non-precious metals and pushing boundaries in the field to make the audience pay more attention to statement jewelry pieces.
Recently I started my own brand. ARRCHAOS is titanium jewelry brand that stands out with sculptural organic shapes intertwined with generative forms as well as existential statements, views and thoughts forming into visual images in designs.
Collection concept:
"Zen Frog" Ring is made of anodized titanium, gold plating, sapphires, black diamonds and rubies. Particularly this piece is inspired by scientific research published in Nature journal regarding impacts of predator-induced fear that causes PTSD-like changes in the brains and behaviour of wild animals". It was found that some species experience stressful state after being attacked by predators for 7 days, while maintaining anxiety. The study showed the release of a pigment in stressful situations among species of frogs, causing a blue glow on x-rays. Two separate leaves shape infinity sign with seven stones in wave splashes from the top view. Zen frog got the relief from the stress and found peace of mind.
Magnolia Earrings, Titanium and nano spinel. Story behind the design - duality of bright exotic flowers, which, having a bright color, often use it as a lure for hunting or used to harm due to toxicity. Part of the thrill is the proximity of attraction and beauty to danger, fragility to force. Magnolias can be poisonous to humans.
Mimic Pendant, Titanium.
Mimicry - a well-known phenomenon representing ability of animal to copy features of habitat like color. Masking resemblance can be considered as a means for predators to stalk and even attract prey (many spiders act like this). Various insects from the praying mantis group pose while staying motionless, a striking resemblance to flowers. Overall shape is based on synthesis of the color of spider species and the insects.
