Collection concept:
I created a collection based on the intersection of printmaking and jewelry, using the printing plates as art objects in jewelry, contrary to the usual definition of the print being the final art object. The copper mezzotint plate has an incredible artistic potential for its beauty and versatility when working on a miniature scale. Light plays a major role in this collection, the images being created by the reflection on the polished surface of the metal. The images appear and disappear in their interaction with the light rays.
The portrait is the focal point, brought to a miniature scale, but keeping its expressive potential. Human expressiveness is an important source of inspiration, and a quintessential part of life that is always surrounding us. Bringing emotions and triggering feelings, having the same effects as art.
