Designer biography:

Passionate about art & design, Bianca Badescu found a way to express her creativity by painting and playing with jewelry in her free time. After a near to death experience and coming back from a coma, her past years were about rebuilding herself and her life. She started attending Assamblage, The Institute of Art & Design in order to study different techniques used in creating contemporary jewelry. She fell in love with designing and handcrafting jewelry, fulfilling her desire of having absolute freedom to manifest her creativity. That’s how KORU Concept was born.

Marks Of Time

The traces that the passing of time leaves on people and things has become one of my main concerns after facing death. I felt a powerful need to save everything that I hold dear from the ruthless decay that comes with the passing of time. After thinking and tormenting about this, I came to the conclusion that the way to do this is to accept that I can’t stop time, I can’t fight the dissolution that it brings. So I started accepting it and seeking the good and the beauty in it. Through this collection I try to show the beauty in the marks of time: cracks, scars, everything that we tend to see as dissolution. To embrace them, to see them as a part of us, as the roads to our evolution. In the end, it’s all about perception, the perception we choose to have on the passing of time.
