ROSS DICKINSON
Designer biography:
I am Ross, a self taught jewellery artist and the mind behind Spiral Roads.
I started making jewellery while living on the road in Europe, meeting artisans from around the world and learning the basics of wirework, macrame and dreamcatchers. I developed my own distinct style and very soon, jewellery became my passion.
My creative process is fundamentally playful and explorative, resulting in unconventional styles and unusual ideas. I love to work with asymmetry, flowing curves, organic textures and I am totally fascinated with gemstones. I also love to combine different techniques and explore how they can cooperate and flow together, creating balance or contrast in a piece.
Collection concept:
The theme of my collection is 'Jewellery woven from a strange dream.' It explores dream catchers made in an abstract style, using Sterling Silver, semi-precious stones and micro macrame. Most pieces are A-symmetrical but keep a sense of balance and flowing continuity; design elements that I believe to emulate the ethereal emotions associated with dreams - recurring dreams, half remembered dreams and day dreaming.
