Designer biography:

Cătălina Scotnițchi holds a master degree in architecture (Master of Arts in Architecture at EPFL Lausanne, Suisse). She began her studies in Romania, continued them in Belgium and France before settling in Switzerland. In parallel with her work as an architect, she has been developing a jewelry designer activity since 2012. She trains both with independent jewelers as well as in schools like Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School (Firenze), Goldschmitte (Zürich), K2 Academy of Contemporary Jewellery (London). Her approach to objects reflects an in-between relationship between architecture and jewelry, and results in sculptural objects that sometimes can be worn.

Collection concept:

The collection « Urban prints I Human prints » reveals the architectural memory of the city of Bucharest. It is a collection about stories told by both buildings and humans, bringing back to life memories of places and bodies. A tribute to memory as well as a base for identity and as a burden that needs to be shared. The collection wants to remind that while a political project leaves its mark on bodies (and souls), each body is also a territory from which to think of and imagine other ways of doing and living together, taking into account the stories of each individual person.
