LUCIA VICENTIU
Designer biography:
I started my personal artistic journey seventeen years ago with the study of botanical art, ancient cultures and the traditional symbolism of the Romanian people. The passion for the art of working with metal and making jewelry matured over time, after I came into contact with the mythology of the peoples of SE Europe and studied the importance of jewelry in ancient and contemporary cultures. So, I felt the desire to create jewelry collections that carry strong messages inspired by both archaic and contemporary philosophy regarding the rites of passage and initiation in human life.
Collection concept:
Symbiosis II
Symbiosis represents the form of mutually beneficial coexistence between two or more different species of organisms, it represents friendship and natural union. In Nature, the concept of union and coexistence between two different species is most often represented by the relationship between Mushrooms and Trees, Lichens and Stones, Insects and Plants In this collection made by the ancient technique of lost wax, using the combination of metals and minerals, I represented symbiosis as an essential process of peaceful transformation and planetary regeneration.
