Designer biography:
Samriddhi Tiwari is a contemporary jewellery designer from India, interested in merging the ethics and values of traditional techniques with modern technology to create wearable sculptural forms. She is passionate about exploring the space between culture, heritage, and contemporary sensibilities and the potential it holds in today’s globalised world while also focusing on aspects of sustainability and ethical production. She graduated from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London in 2023 with a Master's Degree in Design, Jewellery.
Collection concept:
Sculptured Weave explores the Bamboo craft of India, its cultural identity, exquisite patterns and techniques. The collection is designed as a tangible memory and reflection of Indian heritage and creativity that seeks to celebrate the ideals and significance of traditional approaches and their potential for fusion with modern technology. Sculptured Weave puts focus on the use of eco-friendly materials and ethical production and combines traditional bamboo and cane hand-making skills of the artisans with modern manufacturing methods to create a contrast and present a collection that is architectural, structured, with a softer organic feel to it.
