Biography:

For the past 10 years, Ophélia Leclercq has been creating jewelry under the pseudonym PÿR. She trained in the traditional techniques of jewelry making for 5 years at the Boulle school in Paris, France. After graduating, she turned to the world of fashion by making jewelry for shows and tried her hand at theatrical props and artistic performances. Today, for her, the jewel, the body ornamentation is a real means of expression: the body becomes a sensitive surface carrying an artistic approach.

Collection Concept: We are Freaks

The collection hijacks and transforms the plastic of Barbie dolls to make a new material, far from its symbol of smooth and perfect woman. This plastic flesh is melted, cut, sewn: it is the creation of a new skin that lives, mutates and disintegrates. The object plays with the codes of the jewel which is not there any more to embellish the carrier, nor to emphasize him, but this prosthesis allows him to break the normative canons of beauty and to reappropriate his image.
