Designer biography:

Aysa Posthuma (AYSA ANNA - Contemporary Jewelry) has been working as a goldsmith and jewelry designer since 2018. After completing her studies in Art History, she decided to attend the Goldsmith Academy in Schoonhoven. Jewelry has been her childhood passion and ultimately became her canvas. After primarily working on commissioned projects, she felt the urge to express herself differently. She visited Alchimia - Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence, focusing on autonomous work. Growing up as the daughter of an artist nurtured her curiosity for assemblages and the use of alternative materials. By intertwining her upbringing, academic background, and craftsmanship, she creates (un)wearable art. Her goal is to make artifacts that are visually pleasing, surprising to viewers, and technically well-executed.

Collection concept:

The cacti and mushrooms series stems from a fascination with nature's diverse array of solutions to thrive in various environments. Although vastly different in appearance and classification, both organisms share intriguing similarities in their survival techniques. These pieces aim to capture the essence of the world around us and reinterpret it in a timeless and modern way. Like the complex network of mycelium that connects individual mushrooms, these designs are influenced by a vast array of factors, both internal and external. Drawing inspiration from nature, the human experience, and the emotions that arise from both. Creating jewelry that not only delights the senses but also encourages a deeper connection to the world around us.
