LEAH BUTLER
Designer biography:
Leah Butler crafts unique jewelry with a narrative depth and dark allure in Copenhagen. She is the mind and hands behind Nvll+Void, and blends traditional goldsmithing with outsider art through each hand-forged piece. Originally from Ireland, Leah infuses her work with the country’s storied past, inviting wearers to discover cautionary tales within the work. Nvll+Void invites viewers to explore beyond the surface and engage in meaningful discussion.
Collection concept:
M E T R O P O L I S
Inspired by the 1927 film of the same name, the M E T R O P O L I S collection uses a ubiquitous man-made object (the hex nut) to highlight the impact of the rapid growth of economies on our daily lives. In the German expressionist silent film Metropolis, the hands of the working class symbolize their enslavement to production. The film portrays a dystopian future where society is divided between wealthy elites living in skyscrapers and workers toiling underground on massive machines.
